Melbourne
Arriving with the sun, a dawn ride around the empty beautiful streets of the city. I am a time traveller. It feels like I have edited the continuum, bent it around so that all the Aprils line up.There is so much space here. All the houses and buildings are individual, different designs standing alone. The sun is warm and the bird song sounds right. I sat out in the backyard and soaked both in.
Less than 36 hours into my trip I've already crossed so many things of my wish list it's starting to feel like christmas: Flat white, cafe breakfast, falafel, turkish bread, tram ride, sushi, urban artwork in alleyways, shopping. Shopping. I've already got one new skirt, one new dress and two new pairs of shoes. And I haven't even spent 100 quid. I love going shopping with 2.4 times more money than I'm used to. My goodness, I sound like such a consumer.
And there are plenty more things on my list of things to do, and so many people I can't wait to see.
